Two years ago Lecce Pen made a groundbreaking innovation through their determined work spent developing a solution to overcome the excessive amount of landfill site space taken up by post consumer Tetra Pak cartons. Their efforts of five years of research and development resulted in a process that would allow the successful recovery of polyethylene and aluminium layers of Tetra Pak cartons, which previously were considered unusable as a waste product. The fundamental process involves separating three layers; paper, aluminium and polyethylene. The paper layer is sent for recycling whilst the polyethylene and aluminium layers are processed to form a plastic like granule known as Ecoallene.

The credentials of Ecoallene are second to none, it is a genuinely post consumer recycled material that has been proven to contribute to sustainability. It is a fact that without Ecoallene there would be significantly more landfill site space and green house gas emissions resulting from discarded Tetra Pak cartons.
